SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Christopher Newport University track and field team came home from the Swarthmore Last Chance meet with two new times on the program's all-time list. Junior Dira Hansen and freshman Jessica McClelland both improved their times in the 800m and 1,500m.

Hansen ran a personal best 2:09.25 in the 800m for a third place finish at the meet. She finished behind two unattached runners, AJ Wilson and Karly Hamric. Wilson took the 800m with a time of 2:05.19. Hansen's time improved her time in the top spot on CNU's all-time list and also puts her at fifth in all of Division III.

McClelland ran a thrilling 1,500m getting into the top three almost immediately. McClelland finished the race in a personal best 4:48.95 good for third on CNU's all-time list.

The women's 4x400m relay finished third behind Montclair State and Johns Hopkins with a time of 3:55.88.

On the men's side, Kwarteng Asare picked up the win in the triple jump with a 14.57m (47-9.75) leap. The mark was just shy of his personal best 14.60m set in 2010.
