Distance runners lead the way for Captains

Final Results FAIRFAX, Va. -- The Christopher Newport University men's and women's track teams competed in the George Mason Last Chance meet on Sunday, and made seven new entries onto CNU's all-time list. Two of those entries were from the women's 3,000m where senior Jade Zaharoff and Karen Bumiller finished fourth and sixth, respectively. Zaharoff's 10:50.79 ranks her seventh all-time, while Bumiller's 10:57.74 puts her in tenth. Jenna Elliott's 1.65m in the high jump earned her a tie for first place with George Mason's Dominique Graham today. Dira Hansen came in fourth in the 800m with a time of 2:16.48, just three seconds off her personal best and the program record in the event. Jonathon Wade threw for 13.94m in the men's weight throw for sixth place today and fifth on the program's all-time list. Lauren Snell finished third in the pole vault with a score of 3.28m. The mark was a personal best and put her in fourth on CNU's all-time list. Earning third on the all-time list in the men's pole vault was Richard Roethel with a 4.55m. Raymond Gamache ran a personal best 8:44.36 in the 3,000m moving him into third on CNU's all-time list. The time earned him third place in today's meet. Also earning a spot on the all-time list in the 3,000m was Christopher Allen with a time of 9:00.77 today, good for eighth in the race and eighth on the all-time list. Also earning a spot on CNU's all-time list was Kwarteng Asare, with a Top Ten Triple Jump effort. He finished fourth with a jump of 14.29 meters to move into tenth all-time at CNU.
