NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Christopher Newport University cross country teams took three of the four USA South honors this week. Ray Gamache was named the Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week and Van Lewin was the Men's Rookie of the Week. Jade Zaharoff was selected as the Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Gamache led the Captains and placed second overall in CNU's meet this week against Virginia Wesleyan. He completed the 5.850K course in a time of 18:57, helping the Captains capture the victory. Lewin placed 13th overall in the meet and finished the course in a time of 20:08.

Zaharoff took first place in the dual meet with Virginia Wesleyan completing the 3.850K course in a time of 14:52 leading the Captains to the win.

The Captains return to action on September 24th as they travel to Carlisle, Pa. for the Dickinson Invitational.
